United Airlines aircraft mechanic pay

Year 8 / Step 9 is top of scale. Base rate only — license pay, longevity (max $1.00/hr), line pay and other Appendix A components are separate adders. The 1/1/2024 column is the last negotiated step under the extension; rates continue under RLA status quo while the 2026-2030 TA is in ratification.

Structure: $4.25/hr per FAA license (A&P = two licenses = $8.50), FCC license $6.00/hr, total license pay capped at $8.50/hr regardless of licenses held. Cap corroborated separately in the Appendix A Section A table (p.149: $5.25 at 12/4/2022, $8.50 from 1/1/2023).

The Appendix A summary table prints 'Longevity Max $1.00/hr' (all columns). The year-by-year accrual schedule is not yet corroborated and is not published.

Minimums: 4 hours when overtime is worked in conjunction with the regular shift; 8 hours when an off-duty employee is called in (§D).

Excused from a regularly scheduled 8-hour work day on a holiday pays 8 hours straight time (§F).

The domestic hourly per diem is printed in 15.L but has not yet cleared dual-read agreement — it publishes once corroborated, never before.

Safety shoes/aprons/gloves for acid and chemical work are furnished in kind (14.H) — no shoe or boot dollar allowance is printed.

Effective for 2017 profit sharing paid in 2018 and subsequent years of this Agreement. Special and unusual items are excluded from pre-tax profit in the calculation. This page publishes the formula, never a predicted payout.

at 10+ years of service; 25% at 5 to under 10 years; each tier alternatively pays dollar-for-dollar up to $300, whichever is greater

Service-tiered: each tier's employer match is the GREATER of dollar-for-dollar up to $300 or the tier's percentage of the employee's contribution — 25% at 5 to <10 years of service, 50% at 10 to <15, 50% at 15+. Employees with 30+ years of Credited Service as CARP participants receive an additional 1% direct employer contribution. The $300 figure is the dollar-for-dollar ceiling, not an annual cap on the match.
