Base rate by years of service
Current verified scale rate only — before license, shift, lead and retirement additions. Hover or use arrow keys for exact values; the table below carries every number with its citation.
Step chart: a mechanic earns the rate of the highest step reached. Scales end at their top step; the flat tail to the right edge shows the top rate continuing. On a phone, drag the chart sideways for later years and each line’s end value. Effective columns differ by carrier (American Airlines 2026-01-01; United Airlines 2024-01-01; Southwest Airlines 2025-08-16; Alaska Airlines 2025-10-17; Allegiant Air 2025-11-01; Hawaiian Airlines 2026-02-16; PSA Airlines 2025-09-07; Envoy Air 2026-05-13). More carriers appear in the table below; a scale is charted only once its step timing is verified: Horizon Air.

Southwest mechanics' final negotiated raise takes effect
raise effectiveThe 8/16/26 wage-rate column of the AMFA CBA — the last negotiated step-up of the 2023-2027 agreement — becomes the operative scale (top of scale moves to $60.42 base). This site's tables switch to the new column automatically.
Source: AMFA-Southwest CBA, Article 15 (archived copy, p.69) · Southwest AirlinesAlaska–Hawaiian joint contract process still at the pre-negotiation stage
negotiationsAMFA reported that the parties met virtually on 2026-08-07, following a 2026-07-29 face-to-face meeting in Seattle, on a Merger Transition Protocol (MTP) Agreement, and that the company’s response “reverted to its prior” position (AMFA’s characterization). AMFA states that MTPs “are a critical step toward commencing the ISL and JCBA negotiation process” — they set the rules, schedules and timelines for seniority integration and joint contract bargaining. No start of Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) or Integrated Seniority List (ISL) negotiations has been announced. Alaska’s 2023-2028 AMFA agreement and Hawaiian’s IAM agreement remain in force, and the verified rates published here continue to govern.

tentative agreementThe Teamsters Airline Division told members in a letter dated 2026-08-03 (posted 2026-08-04): “We are pleased to announce that we have completed our comprehensive language review and have reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) with United Airlines.” The full 2026-2030 TA text was published for member review, with a highlight sheet and road-show schedule promised “in the coming days.” No ratification voting window, vote result, or date of signing has been published. This site publishes no rates from the TA until a ratification result and a printed effective date exist in primary sources; United’s current agreement rates continue to govern.

negotiationsSpirit Airlines ceased operations on 2026-05-02. AMFA, certified for the Spirit technician group in 2022, stated: "After 34 years of service to the traveling public, the closure of Spirit Airlines and the loss of more than 14,000 jobs mark a deeply painful moment." The group's first collective bargaining agreement was still in National Mediation Board mediation when the airline shut down — the last session reported by AMFA was its thirteenth, held 2026-03-25/26 (negotiations update #22, 2026-04-07). No first contract was ever ratified, and no pay scale for Spirit technicians was ever published.

Existing contracts — Alaska's 2023-2028 AMFA agreement and Hawaiian's IAM agreement — remain in place until a first joint CBA is negotiated and ratified. Both carriers' current verified rates on this site continue to govern until then.

Documents are archived at retrieval time and hashed; the archive is never overwritten. A figure cites the archived copy, not a live URL. Archived but not yet in the comparison: Delta Air Lines — each is withheld until its figures pass verification (or, for employer-published advocacy material, is never used as a pay scale; see the methodology).
Corrections
Published: Afternoon shift premium $0.36/hr and night shift premium $0.43/hr, with a note asserting the printed tables do not escalate; relief premium noted at $0.46/hr.
Correct: The Clause 19.8 table escalates across three printed columns (4/19/2010, 4/19/2013, DATE OF SIGNING). Current printed rates: afternoon $0.51/hr, night $1.00/hr; relief schedule $0.61/hr (latest printed column, 4/19/2013). The 2010 column had been published as current.

Published: A note claiming employee medical contribution amounts 'are not printed in the agreement'.
Correct: Article 16.B.4 prints a Required Monthly Contribution cap of 20% of total projected cost for Core Medical Options and Select Regional Medical Plans. The note was corrected; dual verification of those pages is queued before the medical figures publish.
